Booking a crane truck is one of those jobs that feels simple until the truck turns up and the load won't reach. A little planning saves hours on site and keeps your program on track. Here's the approach we recommend to the builders and tradies we work with across Brisbane.
1. Know your load
Start with the heaviest and most awkward item you need lifted, its approximate weight and dimensions. Trusses, steel beams, container loads and pool shells all behave differently, and the weight at full reach is what really matters for crane selection.
2. Assess the access and the drop zone
Where can the truck set up, and how far is that from where the load needs to land? Note fences, power lines, trees, soft ground and neighbouring properties. A quick photo or two of the site access tells us most of what we need to match the right crane truck.
3. Sequence the lift into your day
Decide when in the build the lift makes sense and who needs to be on site to receive the load. Coordinating the crane with your crew avoids paying for a truck to sit and wait.
4. Book early and confirm details
Lock in your preferred window ahead of time, especially for larger or more complex lifts. Confirm the date, address, load details and access notes so there are no surprises on the day.
