The challenge
A 7m fibreglass shell had to get from the street to a backyard excavation on a sloping Shailer Park block. There was no side access wide enough, so the only route was over the roof of the finished house, clearing gutters, a solar array and the neighbour's boundary trees.
How we did it
We walked the lift with the pool installer the week before to confirm set-up position, reach and shell orientation. On the day the truck set up on the street on plated legs, the shell was rigged on a spreader to keep it flat, lifted high and clear of the roofline, then walked down into the excavation with the installer guiding it in.
The outcome
The shell landed in the hole on the first attempt with no contact to the house, solar or trees, and the installer had it levelled and part-backfilled the same day.
