Every crane truck job is quoted on its own details, which is why an honest answer to "what will this cost?" starts with a few questions. Here's what actually moves the number, so you know what to have ready when you ask for a quote.
Load weight & size
The heaviest single item decides which truck comes out. A pack of timber, a 20ft container and a pool shell are three very different lifts, and an oversized but light load can be just as demanding as a compact heavy one because of how it has to be rigged and balanced.
Reach & height needed
How far the load has to travel from the truck matters more than most people expect. Capacity drops as the boom extends, so a load that's straightforward beside the truck may need a bigger rig if it has to reach the back of the block or up to a second storey.
Site access
Where can the truck legally and safely set up? Narrow streets, steep driveways, soft or freshly graded ground, overhead power lines, trees, scaffolding and close neighbours all shape the set-up, and sometimes the truck choice. A couple of photos of the access answers this instantly.
Distance from our Ormeau base

Time on site & after-hours
A single set-down is different from a day of repeated lifts. If the crew receiving the load isn't ready, or the lift has to be staged around other trades, that time counts. We're open 24 hours, so early starts, night works and shutdown windows are all possible — they just need planning.
Traffic management & permits
Working from a busy road, a footpath or a body-corporate driveway can call for traffic control or permission from the relevant authority. Not every job needs it, but where it applies it needs to be organised before the day.
